Zoë Irwin is the latest guest mentor to spend time with the 2019 F.A.M.E. Team, in a day full of trend insight, personal branding guidance – and great hair.
Once a member of the F.A.M.E. Team herself, Zoë participated in 1998 – the fifth year that the project ran. She went on to help launch Project X – the Fellowship’s team for ongoing education opportunities at any age – before enjoying a thriving, inspirational career. An acclaimed session stylist, brand ambassador for ghd and Wella Professionals and creative director for John Frieda salons, there isn’t much Zoë hasn’t done in the industry – making her the perfect person to mentor the team.
In a day spent at the ghd Studio in Soho, Zoë led the team through a morning of personal branding, trend insight and social-media savvy, before spending time in the afternoon teaching her trademark cool-girl waves, as well as how to capture the results for Instagram.
“It was great getting to know Zoë,” said Ashley Cockrell. “There was a really chilled and relaxed vibe, playing music and talking through her career. We got to go through her creative process and listen to her advice on different avenues of approaching a brief.”
Hair by Zoë Irwin “Later on, Zoe showed us different techniques to build width and texture in the hair with different tools, but still staying on trend and fresh. Zoë also showed us different ways to incorporate wind into a shot for impact and using different materials to give extra details for an image. It was a great day, spent laughing and learning! From today, I’ll be paying more attention to how girls move their hair and how to build a shape that she can recreate later in the day.”
